Vienna, Austria, August 7, 2008 – Ophthalmology Times Europe, a magazine for ophthalmologists that disseminates practical experience, clinical knowledge, discoveries and applications, has reported on the eye medicine module of H.M. Pharma Consultancy's patent database project.
In the three-page article Dr. Hermann Mucke, founder and manager of H.M. Pharma Consultancy, presents an analysis of the intellectual property scenery for drugs, diagnostics and drug delivery technologies that concern ocular medicine. The analysis was conducted using the REDWING eyecare module of the THIRDSPACE patent database, a revolutionary concept that will allow users to search for information in patent documents and peer-review papers in a fully integrated fashion. Once launched as a web-based subscription application, the THIRDSPACE project will address several fields of therapy and pharmaceutical technology beyond eye medicine.

Ophthalmology is a strong new focus area for H.M. Pharma Consultancy. An earlier version of the present analysis was presented at the 7th International Symposium on Ocular Pharmacology and Therapeutics in Budapest earlier this year. The database has also been used in the preparation of the Insight Pharma Report, "Ophthalmological Therapeutics: Pipelines, Delivery Technologies, and Markets," available from the Cambridge Healthtech Institute.
