New Report Launched - Outlook for Predictive Safety Techniques

The Latest from the Drug Development Technology Series

January 02, 2007

Vienna (Austria), January 2, 2007 -- With the December 2006 launch of its newest report, "Outlook for Predictive Safety Techniques" (available from Cambridge Healthtech Associates at www.advancesreports.com), H.M. Pharma Consultancy continues its highly successful series of drug development technology reports. Two earlier reports, "The Clinical Trial in 2015" (November 2005) and "Microdosing in Translational Medicine" (May 2006), which are also available from Cambridge Healthtech Associates, have proven extremely popular.

"To know at the earliest possible stage -- ideally, before a compound even enters animal testing -- and with resonable certainty whether a molecule poses a safety risk would allow developers to focus their resources on molecules which raise no such red flag," said the report author, H.M. Pharma Consultancy's Hermann A.M. Mucke, PhD. "That type of prediction capability would ultimately raise the safety of marketed drugs, and considerable saviings in term of time, money and research animals would be immediate.

Today we are advancing towards this goal; the armamantarium of potent early-stage predictive safety testing technologies is evolving rapidly. This report offers a most detailed view of the current situation as well as of the directions developments will take. As in our earlier reports from this series, interviews with industry opinion leaders and results from a web survey greatly add to the value of this newest addition to our line."
